Mystery Monday - 7th September

OK it's Mystery Monday but I'm thinking of changing the format to make it easier on me in issuing challenges. But at the moment it's Mystery Monday and today we feature the Xero filter. This is a great filter which gives you some awesome effects. The Plugin comes in 4 sets so take a look around them and have a play and see what you come up with.

Challenge:
To make a tag using at least one of the Xero filters as your ONLY plugin. *s*

Theme:
Autumn

I am also introducing an artist of the week where we will feature the work of a particular artist each week. This artist WILL be FTU with general permission.
This week's artist is....

Mystery Monday - July

Ok I am going to be busy for the next couple of weeks so I won't be sending out any challenges probably till the end of July or beginning of August. In the meantime, the theme for the remainder of the month is in place. We in Australia sometimes observe it as a way of celebrating in our winter months, just as the northern hemisphere does in the actual festive season.

Theme:
Christmas in July

Challenge:
Anything Goes! Completely up to you!

We look forward to seeing your festive creations over the remainder of July.

Tuesday Tutorials - 2nd June

Here are your Tuesday Tuts for the week!  Those included most use Freebie scraps. One of mine is  a PTU scrap by our very own Tootypup...so we invite you take a stab at that one.  And another uses no scraps at all and is an easy tutorial for all.
I hope you find something you like and we look forward to seeing your creations!

(no scraps)

(scrap by our very own Tootypup!!)

(this one states using one of her own PTU kits but since then she has released all her tagger kits as freebies on her blog available here - you will have to scroll down some as her tables are out on her blog)

Mystery Monday - 1st June

I know I know....late again. But I had next to no sleep on Sunday night so was pretty out of Monday and ended up having an early night. Then Tuesday I slept late and we had a few things to do and went out to dinner...so here I am FINALLY with the Mystery Monday.

Theme:
Fairytales

Challenge:
Blinkies

Yes, we are going to learn to make Blinkies! They really are simple an fun.  There are many types of Blinkies and I've had a time of it trying to find the right tuts for what I wanted...lol  And I seriously did not have time to write one...although I could.  Well I have time, just not the patience at 2am in the morning. LOL

So below are a few Blinkie tutorials to get you started so you can learn the ropes on how it's done. The easiest Blinkie I made are the 2 Frame type that colour change using blinkie templates (or by making one with a mask or frame "blink") - not the teensy kind. lol
I have also included a ZIP of Blinkie templates for you to utilise.

Happy creating!

Mystery Monday - 25th May

I have downloaded a few Freebie cluster frames this week from Raspberry Road Designs (and then promptly ended up buying a couple of their kits too....lol - can't take me anywhere). Also included is a Cluster made by Cora of Pimp'd Designs which she released today as a freebie to promote her latest kit - the last in her Saga collection.
These are so handy to make a quick tag,  half the work is already done for you, and they look so lovely when finished.  We look forward seeing your creations.

Mystery Monday - 18th May

Yesterday all over Australia we had the Million Paws Walk which was run by the RSPCA and where all the proceeds go towards the opertating costs of the RSPCA.  Even though a recognised charity (the world over even) the government only funds 2% of their costs, which is nowhere near the kind of funds they need to run organisation and their shelters.  They do a wonderful job and deserve much more help and backing.  So this wonderful event I participated in yesterday and had a great time - most of all our pooch had the bestest time ever...lol - reflects both our Theme and our Challenge for the week. (I know we've had this theme before but it is fitting for this week's challenge - and close to both mine and Tooty's hearts)

Theme:
For the Love of Animals

Challenge:
Your challenge this week will be to make a tag highlighting one of the campaigns or events run by your local animal shelter - or an animal welfare agency like the WSPA, RSPCA or ASPCA that may be your country's equivalent. Some of the campaigns or events are:
Million Paws Walk (for pooches)
Million Purrs (for puddies)
Happy Tails Day
Stop Animal Cruelty
Walk the Dog
Project Guardian Angel
Heat Stress (Dogs Die in Hot Cars)
Sow Stalls Campaign (Help the RSPCA get Pigs out of Cages)
Pet Desexing (Our Biggest Problem is Multiplying)

When you do...the challenge is also to make a "Welcome" or "Welcome to the Group" and "A Note" tag from it to share with the group.

We look forward to your creations!

Mystery Monday - 4th May

OK we all use  masks and go looking around for  the ''perfect one'' for what we want, when it is really a simple job to make our own, but we never seem to do that.
So this week, our challenge is for you to make your own mask and use
it to create a tag.

Mystery Monday - 27th April

(Frames above use all three of the challenge plugins)

Your Mystery Monday challenge this week will be to use at least one of the filters to make your tag(s). The more the merrier!!

Below are these filters in a Winzip file
AAA Frames, MaRu's Miester Clouds and the Sandflower plugins.

You may download the latest version of Filters Unlimited here:
( Import the Sandflower plugins into Filters Unlimited and it will show as: Sandflower Special)

I have supplied a zip of photos for you to use in any way in your tag(s) if you so wish.

How to Make the Frame

1. Open a new workspace and add a new rastor layer.

2. Flood fill the new layer with a color of your choice or.....

3. Open a new workspace with a paper or textured background of your choice.

4. If you use a plain color on your new rastor layer...select it and go to MaRu's Meister - Clouds.
Change the colors in Clouds to the colors that you wish the frame / background to be and leave the settings at default.

5. Next...if you want to apply other special effects (such as one of the Sandflower plugins), apply them now.

6. With either your new paper or textured background or MaRu's Meister - Clouds....
Resize this layer to desired size for your tag. Select resized tag and apply "selection / invert". Now apply
AAA Frames - Foto on default settings or play with the settings until you get something you like. Deselect
when you are finished.

Have a great time playing...it is much easier than it looks!!

And because I am so ill with a sinus headcold this week and can't think straight, I have decided to keep last weeks' theme as this weeks' too. Seems fitting to me since it features the weather, and its the weather that's done this to me. LOL  I'm also sending out early in case I forget tomorrow, since I'm not so well.

Enjoy your play everyone!  And looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Whatever Wednesday - 22nd April

Today's Whatever Wednesday is somewhat of a different challenge.  It is what we call a "Grab Bag"....because everything in it is a surprise! *g*

Now the instructions are simple:

1. Download the file and unzup it;

2. There are four types of supplies included (ie. masks, fonts, tubes, templates)

3. You are to select at least ONE of each type of file AS WELL as something from the scrap mini supplied (could be one thing - could be several - but at least something)

You up for the challenge?  Hey I don't even know how these will turn out. LOL  I just grabbed a few different kinds of things and threw them in! *g*

**NOTE**
For the tubes, I have included both mists and regular tubes. You only have to use one or the other, though feel free to incorporate both if you like.

OK, can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Happy creating!

Tuesday Tutorials - 21st April

OK so I'm a tad late again....had my niece's 18th yesterday then my Avon sales meeting today. And boy was I hit with some surprising news! I'm in the top ten in our district AND I'm in the running for the Bronze Mrs Albee award which is a most prestigious award!!  It means the rep who has had the highest percentage in improvement in sales since last Presidents Club year! WOW! Didn't think I'd done that good. lol So I'm pretty stoked.
Anyway, here are your late Tuesday Tuts.... I'm not levelling them anymore because that takes too much time for me to sort out which is easy to advanced.  I just try and pick a variety from Beg to Advanced.  Just try your best and do what you like with them!!  And most of all - enjoy!

"Velvet Heart"

"Bells with Lilies"

"Violet Spring"

Mystery Monday - 20th April

As we all live in various parts of the world we all experience a variety in our weather.
For those of us in the southern hemisphere we are now in Autumn where our days are becoming shorter and nights are getting colder.  While those in the northern hemisphere are enjoying the new life of spring as summer draws closer.
It is this that inspired our theme for this week as I looked out my window at the dull sky and the onset of rain, while I am contemplating turning on the heater. LOL

Now for our challenge!
I did this in another group.  And the challenge is to create a "sitting tag" if that's what you call it. lol  You write your name or short text and a sitting or laying down tube sits on top of it.  I have provided a couple to give you an idea. These were rushed so I could get them up to show you.  But remember, you can do them on anything you like - use your name or a short catch phrase.

So this week we have.....

Weekly Theme:
Rain, Hail or Shine

Challenge:
Sitting Tag

Have fun everyone and we look forward to seeing your creations!

A day where anything goes.
Snaggers, just send in shares of tubes, fonts or something you think the Taggers could use.

So have fun!

Thursday Tubes - 26th March

OK snaggers, this is where you can join in the fun...
...because today is THURSDAY TUBES!!

That's right, all you have to do is to share a tube with the rest of us, relating in some way to the Weekly Theme. Which is...
"Somewhere over the Rainbow"

Now that isn't to say it has to be a "rainbow" tube as such - just a tube that relates to the theme. For example, something bright, cheery and colourful is Rainbow-related; a pot of gold is Rainbow-related; wealth and treasures or even a touch of fantasy.
Things that you would associate being found OVER a rainbow. Does that help?

Now here are my contributions as an example. Snag if you wish; tag if you like.

So happy snagging and tagging!

Cheers
Stina

And remember - any questions...just ask myself or my silent partner here Tootypup (tehehehe).
Enjoy...and we look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Hello Friends!
Here are your Tuesday tutorials! I hope you enjoy them. The Beginner one is another way of doing Text on a Path, but a different kind rather than the one I showed you...and actually this is different to how I do text on a path too so hey, even I learnt something. lol  The Intermediate is one of my own that I have written. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. And don't forget you can incorporate the Rainbow Theme into any of these - you do not have to use the supplies in the tutorials.  Be creative - make them your own!

Beginner - "Glowing Text on a Path"

Intermediate - "Beautiful Springtime"

Advanced - "Tattoo"

Mystery Monday - 23rd March

Welcome friends!
For new members - so glad you could join us here at Back to the Drawing Board.  For the older ones - good to see you all again. It's about time we get this show on the road, isn't it? We took a break back in August last year that was supposed to last till October, but then I had to send my beloved dog to Rainbow Bridge at the end of September, and the year was just a bit of a blur after that.
BUT....in any event, we are back! And we are back with a vengeance! *g*  As you know with WOSIB closing we have gained many of the SOD and Creators members from there, and in the last few days our membership has sky-rocketted!  Which is wonderful to see.  I did another sweep last night with invitations and found my Inbox full of applications this morning.

OK, so what's on the agenda, you might ask?  Today I bring you the Weekly theme and the first challenge of the week and for the newly revived "Back to the Drawing Board" - which we just called "Drawing Board" for short.

The theme this week is "Somewhere over the Rainbow" which you will see posted at the top of the page.  This will remain there for the entire week, afterwhich it will be replaced next Monday with a new theme.  The idea of the theme is to create anything this week using that theme, and on Thursday, to send in any tubes relating to the theme.  Think you can do it? *g*

Now for our challenge....
Something a little simple to begin with....some of you have asked me in the past how do I get my text in a curve around my tags.  So I thought for this challenge:

This is the website tutorial I used when I first learnt how to write text on a curve. It is very simple and easy to follow.

So what do we have to start with?

This Week's Theme:
"Somewhere over the Rainbow"

Challenge:
To make a tag (or stat for those who make stats) using "Text on a Curve"

When you're done, just post back through the list!  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Cheers
Stina
